Units of Measurement

Here are the units of measurement that doctors and nurses use:

Teaspoon: A teaspoon is not a tablespoon.

A teaspoon = 5 mL. A tablespoon = 15 mL.

ml = mL

There are three teaspoons in a tablespoon.

Teaspoon is abbreviated tsp.

Tablespoon is abbreviated tbsp.

Do not mix these up. Check your medicine bottle carefully.

One ounce = 30 mL
